You have two options for beginners Bachata classes – Don’t know what this is? Don’t worry, most people don’t when they first start. The first is our Thursdays which is for all genders, and the second is our Fridays which is a womens only space for solo dancing. See below for more information on both.

What happens in these classes?
In the Beginners Bachata class, we start with a warmup where every week we run through the same basic steps so that you can, over time, learn and get better.
Then we ask you to partner up, leader to follower (this will be explained in the class). Don’t worry if you did not come with anyone, most people don’t.
The teacher will then start the routine for the day and at multiple moments, say ‘rotate partners’ and either the leaders or the followers will move round the circle by one person.
By the end of the class, you will have learned a short routine to take away and learn. After the class there is around 10 minutes of ‘social dancing’ which means you can ask anyone to dance, or they ask you and you can practice what you have learnt.

- all our beginners classes cost £5 and it’s cash only
- no need to pre-book, just turn up to the venue and pay as you go
- the classes are drop-in so you can come any week, miss weeks, come back after years!
- you do not need to come with someone, most people don’t

What happens in these classes?
In these solo classes, we alternate each week between Salsa and Bachata and then an occasional wildcard (usually Reggaeton).
We start with a warmup and a 10 minute technique session where the teacher focuses on a specific technique to drill.
The teacher will then start the routine for the day. By the end of the class, you will have learned a short routine to take away and enjoy.
We also have a weekly theme for colours to wear and we have a short filming session at the end so you have something to take away. Feel free to record as much of the lesson as you like and tag @bachachicas.academy

- the classes are taking place at Dance Studio 1, City Academy, 299 Bluebell Rd, Norwich NR4 7LP
- The class costs £10 cash on the day, or £9 online. There is also a monthly discounted pass that you can get
