Medical Aid for Palestinians Dance Class Fundraiser
On Wednesday 7 July, I ran a live online class teaching a beginners Bachata styling class. There were a few technical issues and it was my first time going live. I managed to sort it out and ended up really enjoying the experience. I also received good feedback from the students which always makes my day.
And most importantly, we raised £74 for the Charity. (If you would like to add to this, here is the link). Thank you so much for all those taking part, the support and especially to those who donated to the cause. I appreciate you so much, and I am sure the Charity feels the same.
If you would like to take the class, I have uploaded a refilm on YouTube here. The class is free, I just ask that you donate a little to my Charity JustGiving page which is linked here. I would love to get us to £150.
Global Village Summer Market
We had the pleasure of performing at the Global Village Summer Market. It was an absolutely amazing event to be a part of. Read the detailed blog here. Thank you to everyone who organised the event and thank you for having us! It felt SO GOOD and so right to be out performing again. Thank you also to my co-performers, Jack Hunt for being an amazing dance partner and bringing innovation and ideas to our routines, and sorting out our merchandise. Thank you to the amazing Bodour Imseeh and Jack Curtis for joining us to finish with a Salsa dance. And thank you to my wonderful mum, Laila Ramsi and my beautiful sister, Samah for the support, looking after our things and holding an umbrella over the camera the entire time
And finally, if you came along, thank you so much for your love and support.
Dance Classes
Our weekly Bachata Beginners and Intermediate classes have been going well! As the Government restrictions eased, we have been able to increase class capacity and also have the option to not come with a partner and swap amongst those who feel comfortable doing so. We have still taken precautions however, with cleaning, hand sanitisers, and getting those who are not double vaccinated to take a lateral flow test on the day of the class.
Salsa/Bachata/Kiz party with DJ Michael Gyapong
Woweee! The first Salsa party since March 2020! Thank you to Michael Gyapong for getting us movinggggg and dancing after so long.
The Reindeer pub on Dereham road was a great venue to host the event, and the staff were super lovely and helpful. As always, Michael made my soul happy with his beaming smile and amazing beats, keeping us all dancing again. It was also great to meet new people and chat to them and also, reconnect with old friends.
Hopefully this is the start of a new beginning for social dancing here in Norwich. To keep up to date with Michael’s Latin American and Afrobeat events, follow him on Instagram here.
