A busy one for sure as our in-person dance classes finally went live and our social events ramped up a notch.

CLASSES

Jack to Basics Bachata and myself started the first in-person dance classes of the year! We held them as follows:

  • Beginners Bachata Thursdays 7.30pm in Norwich
  • Intermediate Bachata Fridays 7.30pm in Norwich

Of course, there were lots of rules and safety measures involved such as limited capacity and advanced booking, but we made it work. It has been so amazing getting back to teaching and seeing our students so happy to be back. We also had some new faces trying out Bachata for the first time which was amazing to see.

Due to the high demand and us selling out almost every week, we are now looking to add more classes into our week. Drop me a message on email (norwichlatindance@gmail.com), Instagram or through the Facebook page to let me know if you are interested in classes and what you are looking for so I can adapt our offerings to your needs. It was also good to see other dance schools open up classes too, it gives the feeling that we are slowly coming out of this pandemic and returning back to our social dance activities.

SOCIAL

We ran two park socials in June. Limited numbers of 30 people of course, but it was lovely to have a small group of us meet up in the park for socialising and dancing. It was great to see faces I hadn’t seen for so long and catch up with individuals face-to-face and it was also lovely to see some new people come along and get to know them too.

COLLABORATION

I had the pleasure of working with Rosy May on a few videos just before the release of her film, The Islands on the 22 June. (Watch her film here). This included a dance workout and also an extensive interview, both of which are now on my YouTube channel.

YOUTUBE EXPLAINER AND DANCE WORKOUTS

I also released Part 2 of the ‘How to follow online dance workouts’ which definitely would have been more useful this time last year, but hey ho, better late than never. And I released a dance workout to the just-made-popular-again-by-TikTok song, Dinero, one to Pasadena and also a cardio-based one where my face looks like I’m in pain the whole way through (because I probably was) to Te Quiero Ver.
